This is an exceptionally rare book and not “a satire  of the Perth medical scene”  as wrongly cited in A Doctor’s Delights Discoveries from the Richard Travers Collection exhibition at Monash University.. apologies for calling you out. It is in fact an expose of the most serious medical
malpractice and negligence by “leading respected gentlemen surgeons” between 1890 and 1920s
in leading respected London Teaching Hospitals where the author trained as an
anaesthetist..

Some of these “leading respected gentlemen surgeons” became senior members and indeed leaders  of the Royal College of Surgeons.

The Reason this very limited edition book, probably less than 100, was discovered in Perth
is that the author retired to Western Australia. The reason the book is written
in satirical parable parody format is because the author was brave enough to call out members of the English surgical aristocracy yet mitigated his passion for truth with the wisdom of encryption.

This is a very important book..  It is priced I feel correctly for the serious collector..  Should you be from the Library of the Royal College of Surgeons or a descendant of one of the chaps who, to quote the author  “who face the quandary of recognition The Rock is Seylla  and the Whirpool Charybdis” The Price is negotiable upwards.
