The autobiography of Eric Lomax a British officer who was a Japanese prisoner during the second World War. He was forced to work on the infamous Burma railway. After the war Lomax suffered severe stress for many years. He discovered that the Japanese guard who tortured him is working as a guide on tours of the railway in Thailand. Lomax confronted the man intending to kill him but desisted. Amazingly they reconciled and became friends!
