The story of the Parkers. Australian soldier Gordon Parker was part of the occupying force in Japan at the end of World War II. Nobuko Sakuramoto was a Japanese girl orphaned by the bombing orphaned by the bombing of Hiroshima. Their unlikely love led to a years-long struggle with the Australian authorities to allow her to come to Australia with her husband. She was the first Japanese wife to be granted this benefit.
